asmkm hirman,
my brother, who is doing electrical engineering in the university of indonesia, swears by ubuntu. he even use only the command prompt version.
is ubuntu really the ‘best’ version of linux today? in what sense. is it because its small and efficient? my foray in the linux world showed that suse is the ‘best’.
have you heard of IGOS? Indonesia Go Open Source. what do you think of it?
if you can enlighten me on this mater, i would be grateful.
w’salaam surya
i haven’t had the luxury of time to evaluate which is the best linux distro there is today. i can only tell you from my experience that ubuntu has the cleanest installation and the best ease of use, among the distros that i have tried out. and it’s got free shipping too. i have tried mandrake, slackware, arch… gosh, i can’t remember how many more—but i have not tried suse.
no, sorry, i have not heard of IGOS.
cheyyyy. i thought you were in some african country or something, you know, because Ubuntu sounds africanish, or is there really a country by that name? Haha.
haha! ubuntu is indeed an african word. tak percaya, tanya google. or wikipedia. :)
