Lesson for today #9

The lesson for everyone today is safe for children and for viewing at work. It is that we can all find comfort and security in a clean, well-equipped toilet.

NSFW!

It unjust to underplay the importance of a clean, well-equipped toilet in our daily lives. Recall your last visit to the public toilet at, say, Jurong East or Boon Lay MRT. Perhaps for the first time you saw a clogged toilet bowl overflowing with filth—not an uncommon sight. Undignified. Fit for animals.

Which is why, it is my intention here to share with you the pleasant experience I have been having at the toilet at my workplace (which is not undisclosed here for good reasons) and the elements that has contributed to this experience:

1. Clean overall outlook

overview

This, young Padawan, you must expect from every toilet. No foul smell, no foul-looking unidentified substances. No used toilet paper (or, unused ones—who cares) strewn on the floor. Adequate natural lighting, not those dim yellow light bulbs. Fresh. Bright. Defaecationally enticing. Yeah.

2. Functioning water hose of adequate length

hose

This is to me very important. Because the alternative, wiping with toilet paper, must only be chosen in dire situations, very dire situations. A must when your waste department goes haywire, and what you need is clean finish.

3. Clothes hook

But you gotta take of those pants and undergarments before you dive, no, squat into action. So it’s handy to have a hook to hang your stuff, one which doesn’t look as if it’s going to break and fall off.

4. Clean flush button

Soon enough when you’re done, you’ll want to restore everything back to it’s original state i.e. via the flush. And it helps to have a flush button that looks like it wants to be pressed, all clean, proper and polished.

5. Gentle reminders, toilet paper etc.

Ample toilet paper should you need it. A reminder so that you do not smoke or leave your valuables behind—how kind!
