Killing Us Softly 3

UPDATE (10 Nov 07): I see that many of you reached here from an email page. Just curious: why?

“Killing Us Softly 3: Advertising’s Image of Women” by Jean Kilbourne

An eye-opening presentation on how women are featured in advertising. The words that come to mind are “pervasive”, and then “normalisation”. Indeed, the practice of advertising has reached the depth of absurdity, but we have been normalised to the absurdity.

Do we really and completely “tune out”? Or have we subconsciously accepted and approved of it?

This is some great thought-food for my upcoming article, “In Rejection of Lewdness”.

  1. A friend of mine gave me the link and i watched it. Then i proceeded to send the link to EVERYONE on my emailing lists (many many). I hope that was OK. Also, i’ve had some people ask if it’s possible to get a copy on disc? Let us know. Thanks!

  2. It’s OK. Thanks for answering. To your question, I’m not the distributor of or in any way associated with this documentary.
