“Of MILF and Men”

Scary, really scary.

The pervasiveness, yes, the surreptitious pervasiveness. Little did I realise, until I read the article, that the concept has been thrown around in songs (”Stacy’s Mom”), movies (”American Pie”) and TV shows (”Desperate Housewives”) for a very long time.

Even scarier is the equanimity with which the authors write on it, without reference or relation to the institution of marriage and what it entails. (I mean, you have to get married to be a mother, right? Um, right?)

Who says married women cannot be sexually attractive? But to whom? But to the point of sheer perversion?

We have become so normalised to such perverted ideas that—how sad—even when it is broadcasted so openly to the public, we feel almost nothing: perversion has indeed become the source of our enjoyment.
