To say it clearly and cryptically

Man1 needs food. Without food, he is hungry. The longer he is deprived of food, the hungrier he gets.

Consider an extremely hungry man who is constantly surrounded with food which he can see but cannot consume, because the food is simply not his portion. To the hungry man, what he sees are not a temptation to him; they are actually a provocation. The provocation is intensified if the food is displayed openly, instead being covered; or if the food has been seasoned, dressed, and garnished to look and smell more delicious.

Righteous men strive to find their own food, whereas others feast on just anything they can find. While it should be easy for the anybody to find and eat their own food, reality often presents the opposite. This is largely due to pressures and restrictions from men who are already content after obtaining food for themselves, and are determined to ensure that all men after them must sacrifice a great deal before they can have and eat their own food.

Whatever happens, food remains to be an essential need of Man. Man was created, deliberately, and in the most magnificent design, with this very nature. It is consistent with this design that every man deserves the food to satisfy his need.

  1. from this point onwards, to be taken to refer to human beings in general []
